Dear Will:

Sorry to be so late, again, in replying to your letter.

Thank you for the information on Michaels. I'm sure he was the pilot I flew with on two or three missions. As I recall, because of his rank, they were setting him up as a lead crew pilot and I was to be his navigator. I think he finally quit flying for awhile and I'm not sure if he ever finished his missions. Hopefully he did after I was shot down. [8 April 1944]

I was wrong about the plane I was in at the time I was shot down. Money's crew (including Goluback as copilot, Wheatley as bombardier and myself as navigator) flew the Missouri Mauler to England from the United States. I don't remember what happened to the plane.

Thanks for the addresses of Money, Goluback and Kirschner.

Will, I have not kept in touch with the 44th Bomb Group members, or the 8th Air Force Organization members. I think it would be interesting to attend the reunion in Milwaukee on September 2, which is only about a six-hour drive from St. Paul.

Please send me any information you have on the reunion and how I can sign up for it.

Sincerely,

Robert J. Baumann
