Dear Will:

Thank you so much for all of the information that you sent me on the Princess. You have sent me much more information than I previously had.

One of the reasons that I am so interested in Princess' past history occurred about 20 years ago when my wife and I visited Europe. While in France, we went to the famous air museum "Musee de lain" in Paris. We spent the better part of a day there and just before leaving, we stopped at the gift shop. I was thumbing through one of the books and there in all its glory was a picture of - you guessed it - the Princess. I became very excited and animated and began calling my wife. My calls attracted one of the shop's volunteers who, in halting English, tried to find out what I was yelling about. I pointed to the picture and with hand gestures explained that I had flown that airplane. With that, the volunteer left and shortly returned with a second book with a picture of Princess. Immediately attempted to buy both books but the volunteer insisted that I accept both books as a present of the "Musee de Lair." Thus began my attempt to trace the history of this airplane.

Since that time, I have discovered many pictures of the Princess and was able to piece together a rather sketchy history. One picture, which hangs in my den, is a formation shot which was taken from another plane on my last mission on May 29, 1944.

Regarding your comments of your last meeting in St. Louis. Sorry, but that was not me that you met. I did not attend that meeting. Having read what took place there, I am glad that I did not.

Again, thank you for your very welcome help. Perhaps if my letter is printed, someone else will be able to add a little more about my beautiful Princess.

Will, during the period that you were writing and publishing your book, which I have in my bookcase, we had some correspondences. Then, as of now, your prompt, courteous and well-written letters were a joy to receive.

Hope to see you in St. Louis.

Keep em flying, Ralph Golubeck
