JOHN M. LYMAN World War II Memories and Biography
(Taken from a letter to Will Lundy)
29 March 1987
Dear Will:
First off, Broy was on the ship. He, myself, Nealon Nosal, and Jones all parachuted to safety. The rest of the crew were killed.
We all were prisoners and returned safely to the U.S. I do not know the whereabouts of any of the rest of them today.
We were hit by flak and knocked out of formation and finished off by fighters.
I returned to the old home dairy farm and got so busy running the farm and raising a family that I kind of forgot about my Army life. Today, I am retired and have time to think. I often wonder about a lot of the men I knew.
If you know the whereabouts of the rest of my crew, I would appreciate it if you would let me know. Thank you.
